THE IMAGE SOCIETY
Heroes Museum is a project of the Image Society Foundation, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Image Society is a non-profit cultural organization aiming to clarify and signify the importance of general cultural understanding of visual culture as part of our media society. The foundation aims to educate and culturally question the role of contemporary media in the arts, mainstream culture and innovative culture as part of society and everyday life.
The Image Society for this and all projects believes in the public, open, internet as not just a subject of cultural debate and educational value but also an ideologically cleared public domain for sharing and reinterpreting contemporary culture, as a topic of educational and intellectual discourse in bits and outtakes, critiques, remnants and remixes, newly defined ideas and interpretations both artistically and academically. The Image Society highly regards the introspective qualities the open internet offers for cultural and educational debate and wishes to thank The Wikipedia Foundation for its ongoing exhaustive and thorough representation of collective knowledge and sharing of this content for ideological and educational purposes that benefit many.
Any revenue by salesmanship of products or presentation of projects affiliated with the Image Society are invested into the organization to further support the cultural and educational purposes of the Image Society in the undertaking and upkeep of current and future projects.
